Then, trace around the outside of your face and compare to the images below to find which shape it closely resembles.

If your face is the same length and width, it is likely either square or round. If your face becomes wider from the forehead to the jawline, it is likely a triangle shape.

Avoid bob haircuts or styles with straight, unlayered lengths. Full curls can also make a face look rounder, instead try gentle waves on a longer length, with the waves beginning at the jawline.

Hairstyles that balance your face shape and draw the eye away from the bottom half towards your cheekbones are best for triangle face shapes. Choppy pixie cuts and side swept fringes are flattering, whilst bob haircuts should be avoided.
